The Highway Rangers program was founded in Texas with a simple mission: help stranded motorists for free. Now we’re expanding to South Carolina, bringing the same volunteer-powered model to the Palmetto State.
Our rangers patrol designated highway corridors, respond to service calls, and provide free assistance to anyone in need. No tow fees, no hidden costs—just neighbors helping neighbors on the road.
All volunteers complete safety and roadside assistance training before patrol.
Rangers are dispatched through our computer-aided dispatch system for fast response.
Officially marked ranger vehicles for easy identification and motorist trust.
GPS-enabled units allow dispatch to coordinate the nearest available ranger.
We’re building a network of volunteers across the Palmetto State. Our initial focus areas target major interstate corridors, with plans to expand as our volunteer network grows.
I-20, I-26, and I-77 corridors serving the state capital and surrounding areas.
I-26 corridor from Charleston through Summerville and the greater Lowcountry.
I-85 and I-385 serving the Greenville-Spartanburg metro area.
Every ranger is a trained volunteer who donates their time and resources to serve South Carolina motorists.
We never charge motorists for our services. All assistance is provided completely free of charge.
Rooted in South Carolina values—neighborly, reliable, and always ready to lend a helping hand.
Join the South Carolina Highway Rangers as a volunteer and help keep Palmetto State highways safe. We provide training, equipment, and a community of like-minded individuals.
